Western Growers has been fighting for the fresh produce industry since 1926. Each year our staff surveys Western Growers members to determine their priorities and to rank their top legislative and regulatory concerns. With this in hand, our government affairs team aggressively advocates for and lobbies on Western Growers members’ behalf in Phoenix, AZ, Sacramento, CA and Washington D.C. to:
- Promote and sponsor legislation such as the Farm Bill, Specialty Crop Competitiveness Act, AgJobs, immigration reform and other bottom line issues.
- Address the concerns of farmers regarding water use, trade restrictions, pesticide regulation, food safety and security, and similar critical issues.
- Promote nutrition and health to increase the consumption of fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts.
