Bioterrosim/Food Defense The Bioterrorism Act of 2002 Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002 The Bioterrorism Act of 2002 was passed by Congress in 2002, and became law on June 12, 2002. The law includes four rules that affect the fresh produce industry: Registration of Food Facilities Prior Notice-Food Imports Establishment and Maintenance of Records Administrative Detention Food Defense FDA Food Defense and Terrorism The FDA provides background information on the Bioterrorism Act and current information on FDA activities in fulfilling its responsibilities under the Act
