Edwin Camp

In 1936, Edwin’s grandfather, W.B. Camp, founded the farming operation in Kern County and was later joined by his son, Don. The company farmed cotton and row crops, operated a seed potato farm in Washington and a cattle operation in South Carolina. Today, table and wine grapes, clementines, almonds, carrots, garlic and potatoes are their main crops. D.M. Camp & Sons also operates three John Deere farm equipment dealerships, and an engine distributorship.

Edwin earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, and participated in the California Agricultural Leadership Class XV.

He is active in many industry organizations, including the Arvin-Edison Water Storage District (President); California Agriculture Leadership Board (Director) North Kern Water Storage District; Cal Poly School of Agriculture Advisory Board; Agriculture Energy Consumers Association; Friant Water Authority Board; Kern Citizens for Sustainable Government Advisory Board and the Agricultural Energy Consumers Association. He is also a director of International Christian Ministries and attends Riverlakes Community Church.

Edwin was elected to the board in 1994 and served as chairman in 2003.
