History

In 1957, Western Growers Assurance Trust (WGAT) was established to provide Western Growers members with plans, options and prices for health care benefits that were unobtainable from main line insurance carriers. Today we are the largest provider of benefits for the agricultural industry.

Health Care Networks

Western Growers Assurance Trust utilizes the Anthem Blue Cross of California and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona network of providers which offer some of the best negotiated rates to providers, meaning you and your employees pay less for claims.

Mexico Program

Our proprietary Mexico Program provides you and your employees with access to health care in Mexico at greatly reduced costs. We hold the longest standing contractual relationships with providers in the border cities of Tijuana, Mexicali, San Luís, Los Algodones, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Matamoros.
