Next week the U.S. Senate plans to begin consideration of S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Act. Consideration of the legislation will likely stretch through the entire month of June, with an expected vote on final passage right before the July 4 recess begins at the end of June.

The Western Growers Board of Directors wrapped up a productive week in Washington Thursday. Members of the group, led by WG Chairman Steve Barnard and CEO and President Tom Nassif, focused their energy on immigration reform, farm bill issues and food safety regulations.
