It is being reported by members and CDFA that the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) has stepped up its border inspections to detect for the presence of live, actionable pests of both domestic and foreign fresh produce commodities entering the state.  The inspections have delayed delivery of some shipments while other shipments have been refused entry.

The 2013-2014 California legislative session was completed early Saturday morning amid a flurry of final action on bills. The focus now shifts as the Governor will decide the fate of the bills that were passed. Below is a snapshot of key labor and employment bills that WG has been lobbying on behalf of our members.

The California Legislature has approved three measures that make up a package of groundwater regulation legislation.  AB 1739 (Dickinson, D-Sacramento), SB 1168 (Pavley, D-Agoura Hills) and SB 1319 (Pavley) all passed with small margins as members from both parties objected to the complex content of the bills as well as the rush to pass them.
