Western Growers Insurance Services hosted two workshops this week in Indio and Imperial to help guide members through Health Care Reform and Worker’s Compensation programs. More than 50 attended the workshops, where WG’s Compliance Counsel Jonathan Alexander reviewed the Affordable Care Act’s major provisions, employer responsibilities, health plan options for ag and more. Cathy Child, WG’s workers’ comps claims analyst, taught members how to minimize their claims costs and decrease the x-mod. She also covered proactive ways to manage workers’ comp insurance programs.
Western Growers Assurance Trust will host its first in an a series of Executive Forums titled “Affordable Care Act Options for Ag Business” starting Wednesday, March 20 in Salinas. There, Alexander and WG executives will guide member owners and key decision-makers in preparing for the Affordable Care Act mandates.
