Tom Nassif is once again on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. as a member of the Agriculture Workforce Coalition, continuing talks and negotiations with representatives from the UFW and Senators Feinstein, Rubio, Bennet and Hatch. Hours of meetings have taken place this week where the details of an immigration reform piece for labor-intensive agriculture have been discussed. The Senate “Gang of Eight” has been working on Comprehensive Immigration Reform legislation and spokespersons have recently said they are nearing completion of a proposed Senate bill. The House is also preparing legislation, but the details of that legislation have yet to be released.
