Want to know more about the details of the Ag component of the U.S. Senate’s comprehensive immigration reform bill? Resources from Western Grower’s immigration reform webinar are now available online for those who weren’t able to attend the session Monday.

During the webinar, titled ‘What the New ‘‘Border Security, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Modernization Act’’ Means to Agriculture,’ WG President and CEO Tom Nassif and  Monte Lake, a D.C.-based attorney, both of whom participated in the Senate bill negotiations, updated members on the details of the agriculture component of Senate Bill 744, including how industry partners, including Western Growers, formed the Agriculture Workforce Coalition and spoke with one voice to help move this legislation forward. Negotiators reached a deal earlier this month on the ag component, and legislators filed the bill last week.

  The webinar covers:
- Blue Card Status for Ag’s Existing Workers
- Agricultural worker program (W-Visas for new guest workers)
- Wage structures negotiated and implementation timeline
- Visa Program requirements
- E-Verify implementation and timeline
- And much more, including the information on the intersection of Senate Bill 744, and the Affordable Care Act.

The webinar slides are available online.  WG will send out the webinar recording Wednesday.
