Western Growers University has added a new Wage and Hour class to its curriculum offerings. An organization’s managers and supervisors are tasked with important duties every day, including responsibilities directly related to managing the time and activities of direct reports.

Wage and hour activities are one of the daily activities that tend to get overlooked and yet can have negative consequences and penalties if not followed correctly. During this class, employers will review the most common wage and hour labor laws for California and Arizona as well as federal and look at how they can help reduce errors and proactively ensure they are consistently adhering to the law. Any individuals responsible for implementing and overseeing wage and hour practices should attend to ensure they are in compliance.

The course curriculum is based on content from Western Growers Personnel Procedures Manual, an agricultural-specific guide for Human Resources departments and managers to understand California and Arizona labor laws including HR policies, ag-centric employment law, hiring, compensation, termination, workplace safety and more.  Members who purchase the PPM before June 30 will receive a 20 percent discount on Wage and Hour training.
