COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments Available Through Online Portals

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) has developed an online portal that allows residents to book and schedule vaccination appointments for themselves and their family members. The portal requires the user to create an account. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has developed an online portal to determine if you are eligible to get vaccinated and schedule vaccination appointments. If you are not yet eligible, you can register to be notified when it is your turn.

FDA Concludes Investigation of 2020 E. Coli Outbreak; Plans Surveillance Activity

On January 27th, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the conclusion of its investigation of the 2020 outbreak E. coli O157:H7 infections associated with leafy greens. While a final investigation report is yet to be released, the agency has shared an important finding regarding the presence of a recurring strain of E. coli O157:H7 in aregion area within Salinas Valley.

With a $1 million donation, Western Growers has joined dozens of industry organizations in supporting CPS’s new capital fundraising campaign to expand produce safety research. The 2020 CPS campaign aims to raise $15 million to finance produce safety research over the next five years, subsequently applying learnings from that research to industry and other produce safety stakeholders.
