CHP was recently in Salinas enforcing CARB regulations.

On June 25, 2013, it was witnessed that CHP established a compliance check point in Salinas (near Abbott and Merrill) assisting California Air Resources Board (CARB) enforcement officers inspecting carriers for compliance of CARB regulations.

This activity should serve as a strong reminder for all shippers to exercise due diligence in order to avoid any potential fines.  It is imperative that you demonstrate your due diligence by including a TRU compliance statement on your bill of lading (click here) to see the appropriate wording.

You can add further assurance that you are loading a compliant carrier by utilizing the Western Growers/C H Robinson Transportation Program.  Through the technology of CHRW, carriers are notified that they must be CARB compliant, (click here) to see a screen shot of the correct compliance language.
