On July 26, the Food and Drug Administration published its proposals for two new rules: the “Foreign Supplier Verification Programs for Importers of Foods for Humans and Animals” and the “Accreditation of Third Party Auditors/Certification Bodies to Conduct Food Safety Audits and Issue Certifications.”

Both rules are part of the comprehensive package the FDA was charged with under the Food Safety Modernization Act. Western Growers invites members to join its upcoming webinar to learn more about WG’s international trade and transportation services, as well as these FDA proposed rules and to have the opportunity to ask questions to FDA experts.

The panel of speakers will include Brian Pendleton and Charlotte Christin, who are policy advisors in the Office of Policy for the FDA; Dominic Veneziano, who is the director of the FDA’s Division of Import Operations; Ken Gilliland who is WG’s director of international trade & transportation; and Sonia Salas, who is WG’s director of science & technology.
