Citrus Saving Bill Goes to Governor for Signature

Calif. Assemblyman Mike Gatto’s (D-Los Angeles) bill meant to protect California’s iconic citrus industry from the spread of Huanglongbing (HLB) passed the Senate and is being sent to Governor Jerry Brown’s desk for signature.  AB 571 is a proactive measure designed to stop the spread of the disease that destroys citrus trees and has no known cure.  The bill passed the Senate yesterday on a 39-0 vote.
