Strong Editorial Support Across California for Water Bond

Proposition 1, the $7.5 billion California water bond on the statewide ballot has nearly unanimous support from newspaper editorial boards. California’s largest newspapers have all issued endorsements of the YES on Prop 1 campaign, including the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the U-T San Diego, the Sacramento Bee, the San Jose Mercury News and the Orange County Register.

$2.8 M in Food Safety Grants Awarded by Center for Produce Safety

The Center for Food Safety (CPS) announced yesterday that 14 new grants totaling more than $2.8 million have been awarded to answer critical questions in food safety practices. The objective of the awards is to provide the produce industry with practical, translatable research data that can be used at all levels of the supply chain. Specifically, the research awards will focus on fruit, vegetable and nut production, pre-harvest, harvest and post-harvest handling and co-management of food safety and the environment.
