Jay Leno, the longtime host of The Tonight Show, will be the featured performer at the Western Growers Award of Honor dinner scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, during WG 89th Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nov. 2-5. The elegant Bellagio Resort will serve as the venue for the Western Growers meeting.
As TV’s acclaimed late-night show host, stand-up comedian, best-selling children’s book author, lovable movie voice-over artist, and pioneering car builder and mechanic, Jay certainly has much to be proud of. Leno’s late night television rating domination included more than two decades of The Tonight Show, winning every consecutive quarter of his hosting over the past 19 years. He has the hardware to prove it, including an Emmy Award, People’s Choice Award, and other honors such as the Harris Poll selection as the most popular star on television.
An indefatigable performer, Leno loves to test his humor on audiences across the nation, and performs over 100 live appearances in nightclubs, theaters and stadiums each year. He has been touted as one of the nicest people in show business and the hardest-working—a winning tandem for the man who says, “Anyone can have a life—careers are hard to come by!”
The Chairman’s Reception on Sunday night, Nov. 2, will kick off the WG Annual Meeting, and the Golf Tournament will close the festivities on Wednesday. In between, attendees will have ample opportunity to network, attend educational sessions, hear from political commentators Ruben Navarrette and Michele Malkin, and meet with old and new friends. WG Chairman of the Board Bruce Taylor, (Chairman and CEO of Taylor Farms California), will give his address at the Major Lunch scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4.
There will be several workshops exploring the important current agricultural and business issues, and a workshop featuring a hands-on demonstration by Top Chef Louis Maldonado of the fabulous new Spoonbar restaurant in Healdsburg, California. Registration for the 89th WG Annual Meeting is currently available on the Western Growers website. Early registration discounts and sponsorship positions are available.
