The Vegas Strip will glow a little brighter this November 4th when Gary Pasquinelli is honored as this year’s Award of Honor recipient during the 89th Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. The CEO and co-owner of Pasquinelli Produce Company -- and Western Growers’ Board member -- will be honored for a lifetime’s worth of work and achievements in the produce industry.
No stranger to honors and awards, Pasquinelli previously received numerous accolades from fellow industry, business and academic organizations for his contributions to Arizona and California agriculture, including: the University of Arizona Eugene G. Sander Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013; the 2010 Heart of Yuma Award; and the 2003 Yuma County Citizen of the Year Award.
Beyond his contributions to agriculture, Pasquinelli is well-known for his humanitarian and compassionate approach to caring for his employees. That attitude undoubtedly not only comes from the way he was raised, and his immigrant background, but also from having spent over 20 years as a deacon in his church. “I believe the strongest part of the company is the people working out in the field. I have a duty to take care of them,” Pasquinelli explained during a recent interview.
