The Alliance for Food and Farming (AFF) recently updated its website to provide viewers with enhanced information on the nonprofit organization as well as additional information about the safety of fruits and vegetables. The new website is designed to ramp up the organization’s efforts to create a higher profile for itself amongst consumers and within the produce industry.
“We’re trying hard to promote the outstanding work of the AFF on behalf of the produce industry,” said Matt McInerney, executive vice president of Western Growers and the current chairman of the Alliance for Food and Farming. “As part of that effort, we have revised and updated the AFF website with fact-based information on the organization and the work it does to inform and educate consumers about the safety of fruits and vegetables.”
The Alliance for Food and Farming uses information from experts in science, nutrition and farming and then offers facts and information about the safety of fruits and vegetables consumed in the United States. The organization is voluntarily funded by both conventional and organic multi-generational farmers and farming organizations.
One of the organization’s most popular and well known tools is the Pesticide Residue Calculator that it created for the SafeFruitsandVeggies.com website. The calculator provides science-based information about the safety of organic and conventional produce.
