On November 25, Western Growers is sponsoring a webinar focusing on Listeria and fresh produce. Though this sometimes deadly pathogen has not typically been associated with fresh produce, in the last few years two major outbreaks linking the two have changed how Listeriosis is viewed by regulators and the ag industry.
The purpose of the webinar is to provide an overview of Listeria and its main sources; the issues driving current policy; and epidemiology as well as current research efforts. Our featured speakers will also discuss the concept of “zero” tolerance and share some prevention and control strategies that can be employed.
