The U.S. Supreme Court issued a unanimous ruling Thursday that President Barak Obama’s recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board during a brief Senate break in 2012 were invalid, finding that the Senate was not in recess when the appointments were made. The decision calls into question hundreds of rulings made by NLRB when the board was controlled by Obama’s appointed board members in 2012 and part of 2013.

Many members of the House on both sides of the aisle have expressed the need to pass legislation fixing our broken immigration system. While the Senate took action by passing S. 744, the House has yet to pass a single bill to reform our immigration system. With 17 legislative days remaining until the House adjourns for its August recess, the urgency for action mounts as a key window for action closes.

Recap of immigration reform action by the U.S. House of Representatives for the day ending June 25, 2014:

Bills passed: 0

It has been 363 days since the Senate passed S. 744 with no action by the full House.

As June 25, 2014, there are only 17 scheduled legislative days left to pass immigration reform before the House adjourns for its August recess.

AgSafe, an agriculture-based safety organization, has developed a food safety training course for produce harvesting. This class will be helpful to everyone in the produce business especially those involved in harvesting specialty crops.  It will give supervisors, foremen, crew leads and field workers basic knowledge regarding sanitation and hygiene principles that are often noted in food safety audits.  The sessions are open to anyone interested in attending.
