Western Growers has hired Mikel Pak as the communications manager in its headquarters office in Irvine. Pak brings more than five years of experience as a journalist and communications professional. She was a business newspaper reporter in North Carolina and also worked in the communications and media relations department at The Council of State Governments, a trade association reaching more than 20,000 state government leaders and others in all three branches of government.

Nassif Testifies Before Congress on Burdensome Regulations

IRVINE, CA. (Feb. 9, 2011)

Farmers suffer under the burden of government over-regulation. And it doesn’t just hurt America’s fresh produce industry, the consequences stretch to the country’s overall economy. Tom Nassif, president and CEO of Western Growers will take that message to Washington, D.C., to testify at a Feb. 10 hearing before the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee chaired by Congressman Darrell Issa from California. The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. EST in 2167 Rayburn.
