In a trend being echoed in several states across the nation, Arizona is set to raise its minimum wage at the start of the New Year. The state will increase its minimum wage by 10 cents, from $7.80/hr. to $7.90/hr. on January 1, 2014. The increase is a result of a 2006 statewide initiative (Prop 202) that passed and became effective January 13, 2008, and automatically sets annual wage increases indexed to the cost of living.
