Carol Chandler

Carol Chandler received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis and her master’s degree from California State University in Fresno. Before joining the family farm, Carol taught in the San Joaquin Valley, including Fresno City College.

W.F. Chandler founded Chandler Farms in the 1880s. This fourth-generation family farming operation grows citrus, wine grapes and almonds.

She is the past state president of California Women for Agriculture, is a member of the CSU Fresno Water Task Force and serves on the UC President’s Advisory Commission on Agriculture and Natural Resources. Carol served on the California State University Board of Trustees. She was a member of the University of California Board of Regents and belongs to La Feliz Guild of Valley Children’s Hospital and the Common Threads Committee, which honors philanthropic women in Valley communities. The California State Legislature named Carol as Woman of the Year in 1992 and 2002. She received the Western Growers Award of Honor in 2021 for her extensive contributions to the ag community.

Carol was elected to the board in 2004.
