November 2010- Now What?

The November elections were truly historic…just like the national elections two years earlier.

In 2008, following a fairly consistent pattern of the previous 50 years, the American electorate rejected the sitting party after eight years of rule and brought the opposing party back into power. And as they have done in many election cycles before, in 2010, the party in power was dealt a body blow in the midterm elections. What made those two elections historic was the election of an African American in 2008, and the size of the body blow in 2010.
