Inspired by the success of Western Growers’ technology events held during the last several Annual Meetings, the Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (CFVGA) is holding a similar event during its 4th annual conference in Denver on February 20, 2018. CFVGA is currently requesting proposals from qualified startup companies that are innovating agtech solutions to meet the pressing demands and challenges of growers, shippers and fresh food processors.

Western Growers and AgSafe are hosting a series of two-day workshops in July to assist fresh produce companies in meeting training requirements under the final FDA produce safety rule, “Standards for the Growing, Harvesting, Packing, and Holding of Produce for Human Consumption.”

During the first day, participants will have the opportunity to take the Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) Growers Training Course. During the second day, they will have the option to receive bilingual training on how to implement the FDA’s produce rule.

In an effort to develop technologies that meet growers’ exact needs, the Western Growers Center for Innovation & Technology (WGCIT) and its resident start-up companies invite you to participate in our AgTech Survey.

The agtech startups working out of the WGCIT are dedicated to creating technologies based on growers’ input. The results of this short survey will help the startups determine which tech platforms are most useful to our members.

Western Growers (WG) will be hosting a series of four listening sessions in May about potential changes to the Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement (LGMA)-approved food safety metrics. These listening sessions will provide interested parties and signatories of either the California or Arizona LGMAs with an opportunity to comment on possible changes to the LGMA-recognized metrics and audit checklist.
