Whole genome sequencing (WGS) is an increasingly valuable tool with a broad scope of applications from food safety management and surveillance to outbreak investigation. Dr. Martin Wiedmann of Cornell University will be kicking off the WGS Webinar series by sharing the basic elements of WGS, along with insights on the current and potential use of WGS for food safety purposes across regulatory agencies, academia and the food industry. Dr. Wiedmann will discuss considerations for industry implementation of WGS tools and data, as well as the important opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
