Vessey & Company, a family operation, was founded by Elton and Maude Vessey in 1923 in Hollister and the Salinas Valley. Through the years, the company has expanded into other areas and later moved its headquarters to Holtville in the Imperial Valley.
The company is a grower, packer and shipper of commodities, organic and conventional, including: spring mix, romaine, leaf and iceberg lettuces, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, napa cabbage, bok choy, frisee, and cantaloupes.
Jack serves as President of Vessey & Company and is the 3rd generation Vessey to serve on Western Growers Board, being preceded by his grandfather Jackson Vessey and his father, Jon J. Vessey.
Jack attended California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. He is a graduate of the California Agricultural Leadership Program, Imperial Valley Vegetable Growers Association, Imperial County Farm Bureau, Imperial Valley Water (IVH20), Holtville Rotary, and the Holtville Athletic Club.
Jack was first elected to the board in 2009, and returned to the board in 2015.
