Califoria Giant is a family-owned operation designed to control every aspect of berry production to ensure customers and consumers receive a year-round supply of superior quality strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. Based in Watsonville, California, the company places concern for the environment, food safety, quality, service, and our community at the core of its business.
The company began in 1970 as a small strawberry shipping start-up. In 1983, the company took on a new name, New West Fruit Corporation, and later expanded its operations in the 1990’s to include growing strawberries. The name California Giant, Inc. was adopted as the company name in the late 1990’s. Several years later, in 2006, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries were added to the list of berry commodities. Today, California Giant Berry Farms grows and ships over 20 million trays of berries annually and has expanded its operations to include Santa Maria and Oxnard, California, Florida and Central Mexico.
