Matt McInerney began his career with the association after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Southern California in 1975.
Matt has participated on several California Department of Food and Agriculture committees, including Market Advisory, Direct Marketing, and Market Enforcement Policy Review. He has served on the NAFTA Advisory Committee for Commercial Dispute Resolution Regarding Agricultural Goods, and has been Chairman of the Dispute Resolution Corporation (DRC) since 2000, a tri-national organization comprised of members from Canada, Mexico and the United States which promotes standards for the fair and ethical trading of produce between those three countries. He also co-chairs the U.S. Canada Task Force dealing with trade issues between both countries.
Matt is currently serving on the USDA Agricultural Technical Advisory Committee for Trade (ATAC) in fruits and vegetables.
In 2004, he was appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture to the USDA Fruit and Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee and served two terms. Matt is past Chair of the Alliance for Food and Farming. He previously served on the Specialty Crop Committee of the National Agricultural Research, Extension, Education, and Economics (NAREEE) Advisory Board.
