Important immigration reform voters will be held in D.C. this week.

This is a significant week in the success of immigration reform legislation. The Senate is expected to vote on final passage of S 744 on Thursday or Friday of this week. Yesterday, the Senate cleared a significant procedural hurdle when Senators voted 67-27 to limit debate on an amendment offered by Senator’s Hoeven (R-ND) and Corker (R-TN) that will increase resources for border enforcement purposes.

The carefully negotiated agriculture provisions included in S. 744 have remained intact through the Senate process largely because of the strong agreement reached between the Ag Workforce Coalition (AWC) and the United Farm Workers (UFW).  AWC is sponsoring an ad campaign targeting U.S. Senators.  It is vital that your Senators hear from you today and tomorrow in support passing S. 744. If you have not yet taken the time to send a letter or make a call, take a few minutes in the next day, then encourage a friend or colleague to do the same.
