Rep. David Valadao will particpate in an immigration town hall meeting.

Freshman GOP Congressman David Valadao of Bakersfield will join Illinois Democratic Congressman Luis Gutiérrez on Saturday afternoon, July 20, at an immigration town hall meeting in Bakersfield. Gutiérrez is one of the bipartisan "Gang of Seven" group that has been crafting a comprehensive immigration bill in the House.

They'll be joined by others including United Farmworkers Union co-founder Dolores Huerta, and representatives from the Kern County Coalition for Immigration Reform, the Agricultural Coalition for Immigration Reform and the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles.

The event is being billed as a bi-partisan forum on immigration reform.  It will be held from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Bakersfield Christian Church at 3200 Bernard St.  There will be prepared testimony from several groups, including both congressmen.
