USDA Seeks comments on Proposed Onion Grade Standards

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is requesting comments on proposed revisions to three standards:  Creole Onions, Bermuda-Granex-Grano Type Onions, and Other Than Bermuda-Granex-Grano and Creole.  The purpose for the revisions is to allow for the packing and grading of an assortment of onion colors in mixed or specialty pack varieties.

The proposed rules were published in the August 22, 2013, Federal Register: Creole Rule and Bermuda/Other Than Bermuda-Granex-Grano Rule. Please let us know if you have any comments or concerns regarding the proposed rules.  Please forward you comments to Tom Oliveri at no later than October 7, 2013.
