Normandy Landings Remembered -- 70th Anniversary of D-Day

Tomorrow, June 6, 2014, marks the 70th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy, otherwise known as D-Day.  Please join Western Growers in saluting and paying respect to all of the brave Allied soldiers, sailors and airmen who fought and died for our freedom on that day and the many days that followed.  May their gallantry and sacrifice never be forgotten.

"We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may be always free."   -- Ronald Reagan, Remarks at a United States-France Ceremony Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion, D-Day, June 6, 1984.

We invite you to view this excerpt of the speech that contains the following quote (video length: 2:58):

“Where do we find them?  Where do we find such men?  And the answer came almost as quickly as I’d asked the question.  ‘Where we’ve always found them in this country.  On the farms, in the shops, the stores and the offices.  They just are the product of the freest society the world has ever known.’”

--Ronald Reagan/Gen. George Marshall

As it happens, today also marks the 10th anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s death.
