The University of Arizona’s Yuma Center of Excellence for Desert Agriculture (YCEDA) will showcase presentations from candidates who are in consideration for the Executive Director position. The topic of the presentations will be “Opportunities and Challenges Facing YCEDA in the Next 10 Years.”
Presentations will be held on January 3 and 4 at the Yuma Ag Center (6425 W. 8th St.). The public is welcome to attend in person or watch the presentations via Zoom.

The individual who will take on the Executive Director position will be expected to deliver on the following job requirements:
- Provide leadership in addressing and responding to issues related to desert crop production.
- Facilitate strategic alliances within the desert agriculture industries that are important to Arizona and maintain the existing collaborative network.
- Identify and access leading scientists worldwide for state-of-the-art expertise.
- Build projects and opportunities for externally funded research in collaboration with CALES academic units and the Cooperative Extension System.
- Expand the reach of YCEDA and especially establish a tangible presence in the Salinas valley.
- Maintain the existing strong multimedia presence and build on it.
- Maintain, promote, and facilitate strategic alliances and relationships with stakeholders, legislative representatives, granting agencies, private enterprises and other interested parties to share the vision and importance of desert agriculture.
