Previously, Varney offered his profound acumen as host of CNBC's Wall Street Journal Editorial Board with Stuart Varney, and prior to that as co-anchor of CNN's Moneyline News Hour. In 1980, he was recruited to join CNN, helped launch the network’s business news team and subsequently hosted many of the financial programs including, Your Money, Business Day and Business Asia. His reporting and analysis on the stock market crash of 1987 contributed to CNN earning a Peabody Award for excellence in journalism.
