- All Spring applications must be postmarked by June 1.
- Grantees will be notified by July 15.
- All Fall applications must be postmarked by November 15.
- Grantees will be notified by January 15.
Grant Specifics
Awards may include:
- Up to $1500
- Irrigation Kit courtesy of John Deere Water
- Seeds
- Teacher Resources
- Local contacts to assist you in the planning, planting and sustaining of your garden
- Local retail contacts that will work with you stretch your funds

If you do not receive a School Garden Program grant, please apply again next year! Grant Application Criteria
The following are a few criteria from the evaluation form that can mean the difference between an application that gets a school a School Garden Program grant, and an application that is not considered:
Detailed sketch of garden area including cement, walkways, shade and water sources
- Students heavily involved in planning, planting, harvesting, etc.
- Garden will be primarily fruits and vegetables
- List the uses of the garden
- Letter(s) of recommendation
