To help you prepare, Western Growers will host a webinar to review the new Pay or Play Rules regulations, the Safe Harbor look-back rules, and employers’ 2013 responsibilities.

The first of many Health Care Reform workshops began in Phoenix Thursday morning. There, Western Grower members had the opportunity to review PPACA requirements and speak with staff experts about how to prepare for the future. Western Growers will host additional workshops, designed for small employers (50 employees or less) in the future.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recently released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Shared Responsibility for Employers Regarding Health Coverage (the Employer Mandate) under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The NPRM largely incorporates previously released guidance on the subject and employers may rely on the proposed regulations until final regulations are issued. The Employer Mandate requirements take effect on January 1, 2014.
