George Adam

George Adam

George Adam is a sixth-generation produce grower in the Santa Maria Valley. After graduating from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science degree in farm management, George worked for Adam Farms from 1983 to 1994 as harvest supervisor. From 1994 to 2008 he was a managing partner of A&A Farming, Inc. and is currently owner/operator of Innovative Produce established in 2008.

George served on the Grower-Shipper Vegetable Association Board of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties from 1994 to 2000, and served on the Farm Bureau Board of Santa Barbara County from 2005 until 2008. He currently serves on the Marian Regional Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors. George has been involved with numerous water issues in the Santa Maria valley over the past 30 years, currently through Preservation, Inc.

Innovative Produce grows and packs conventional and organic broccoli, cauliflower, romaine and celery, in addition to conventional head lettuce. George is also a partner in organic berry production.

George was elected to the board in 2011.
