We believe our employees are our most valuable asset. All our employees receive in-depth training to enhance their personal and professional development. Training centers around leadership, communication and cultivating relationships. Trust, accountability and cooperation are our guiding principles.
Our culture centers around finding and keeping top talent. That’s why Western Growers offers a competitive benefits package. Employees become eligible for benefits the first day of the month following one month of continuous employment.
We offer our employees a choice of three PPO plans, three dental plans and a vision plan. Each employee get a flex-dollar credit amount to use toward benefits or save for a flexible spending account. This credit amount and the cost of benefits are both prorated across the year. Credit amounts vary based on employee-only or employee plus dependents coverage.
Employees can receive reimbursement up to a certain dollar amount for continuing education through an accredited program that offers either growth in an area related to the employee’s current position or might lead to promotional opportunities.
Employees accrue vacation time according to their tenure. They also accrue sick time separate from vacation time. Western Growers honors eight paid holidays per year. Plus, after a 90-day introductory period, employees earn up to two floating holidays per year.
An employee receives a discretionary profit-sharing contribution equal to 4% of compensation earned after the first anniversary of active employment. This contribution is not dependent on the employee’s having made deferral contributions.
When an employee makes a 401(k) contribution then he or she becomes eligible to receive the company’s discretionary matching contribution, dollar-for-dollar up to 3%.
In addition Western Growers offers profit sharing, an employee has the potential of earning a total of 10% of their total gross wages on a pretax basis, with 17 investment options to choose from.
From flexible spending accounts and employee assistance programs to life insurance and wellness programs, Western Growers offers a comprehensive set of ancillary benefits. Plus, discounted tickets to southern California attractions, discounted dry cleaning and car detailing (Irvine headquarters only), our employees enjoy a culture that rewards their hard work.
