Diamondback moth (DBM) continues to be one of the most challenging pests facing California cole crop production.
Join UC Davis and UCCE researchers (Ian Grettenberger/Fi-Ve Bug IPM lab and Dylan Beal) and industry (Abby Taylor-Silva, Pest & Disease Task Force) representatives for a field day focused on the latest research and practical management strategies for this increasingly difficult pest.
The program will cover current insecticide resistance issues, updates from various insecticide efficacy trials, and alternative management tools including virus-based products, vacuums, and mating disruption. Attendees will also learn about the role of non-crop hosts, sprayer technology and spray coverage, and regulatory updates impacting DBM management.
This event will provide an opportunity to hear about new approaches and discuss potential IPM frameworks for DBM. This is an excellent opportunity for PCAs, growers, industry professionals, and other stakeholders to stay informed on the latest developments and collaborate on solutions to one of California agriculture’s most significant insect management challenges.
