Through this we engaged in the following efforts.

Our Process
To ensure broad industry engagement and transparency, Western Growers has established a best practice development process.
The process starts with the engagement of stakeholder, this include includes growers, shippers, handlers, suppliers, universities, buyers and all entities interested in this review process.
Workgroups are formed to scope out, draft and review best practices following a science-based approach.
Once a draft is developed a Western Growers opens a 30-day comment period. During this period, proposed changes/comments are submitted and reviewed for consideration and discussion. Virtual web-based discussions are hosted to allow for dialogue surrounding all submissions.
The workgroup reviews public comments and engages in revisions.
Following the development of the guidelines, Western Growers commences work on outreach and education activities, which include communication, training and development of appendices.
