The Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) Educators Call brings produce safety educators together to share information and discuss topics related to fresh produce safety education and implementation of the Produce Safety Rule.

During the October 8, PSA Educators Call, Sonia Salas, Associate VP of Food Safety and Regulatory Affairs at Western Growers, will discuss how foundational produce safety principles, requirements and practices provide a baseline for commodity-specific best practices and their regional application.

The presentation will examine regional considerations, the need for consistency and flexibility and emerging efforts to strengthen agricultural best practices. It will also explore the role educators play in enhancing regional produce safety education and fostering continuous improvement.

The complementary session will be conducted in Spanish and conclude with a live question-and-answer session. An English-language session on the same topic will be offered later this month.
