The U.S. Department of Labor will be hosting a series of webinars in June and July to discuss how the Department is helping workers and employers by reducing regulatory burdens and making it easier to understand and comply with the law. The first in the series is dedicated to the agriculture industry and will feature speaker Wage and Hour Division Administrator Cheryl Stanton. The webinar will provide an opportunity for workers, employers, and state and local governments to ask questions and discuss how the Department can expand and improve access to its compliance assistance materials.

On Monday, June 22, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will host the next call in a series of weekly private sector calls for updates on the COVID-19 response. As previously announced in Spotlight, the CDC is conducting private sector calls detailing what the CDC knows and what it is doing in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The CDC plans to host calls every Monday for the foreseeable future.

Today, the California Department of Public Health released updated guidance on face coverings, requiring Californians to wear a face covering in high-risk settings and the use of cloth face coverings by the general public when outside of the house. Scientific research has proven that face coverings, in addition to physical distancing and frequent hand washing, will reduce the spread of COVID-19.
