Circular Action Alliance (CAA) hosted a webinar this week to provide an overview of its fee-setting approach for California’s packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law, SB 54. The webinar covered how program costs are developed, allocated across materials and used to calculate producer fees, as well as the key principles, processes and investments supported through producer funding.
The webinar comes after CAA submitted its revised program plan to CalRecycle. The revised plan reflects feedback received during the 60-day public comment period and includes updates aimed at improving transparency, strengthening implementation and providing greater clarity around proposed program investments and costs.
CalRecycle is reviewing the revised plan and will determine whether to approve, disapprove or conditionally approve it by Dec. 28, 2026.
