WG Women Program Returns with Virtual Leadership Development

After a short hiatus to retool during the COVID-19 pandemic, the WG Women Program is back with a new series of virtual leadership development opportunities, including online leadership, social media and traditional media training courses.

Join us for our first virtual class, a two-part social media workshop designed to empower you to use social media as a tool of industry advocacy. The training will be provided by digital-first communications experts from Unearth. WG Women must attend both sessions to earn credit for the workshop.

Click here to register for Workshop 1.1: Social Media Archetypes.

Date: Thursday, August 20

Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Workshop 1.1: Social Media Archetypes

You will learn about the seven archetypes of social media – and discover your own social media archetype! Understanding your personal social media archetype will allow you to position your content in order to be of value to the public. It means telling the right stories, at the right time, to the right people, in the right way. You will also learn how to effectively listen to conversations from the people in your social media network.

Workshop 1.2: Social Media Cocktail Party
Using the analogy of attending a cocktail party, you will take a deeper dive into effective Facebook, Twitter and Instagram tactics. Just like a cocktail party in real life, you will learn how to get dressed, or perfect your social media profile; listen to conversations, or find and follow your target audience; and join in the conversations, or create content as outlined by your archetype.

Thursday, September 17
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Registration will open following the conclusion of Workshop 1.1.

Launched in February 2020, the WG Women Program seeks to prepare women for positions of leadership within Western Growers and the fresh produce industry. Women who participate in the program have access to a series of on-going activities aimed at supporting professional growth, including mentorship, networking, leadership training, advocacy and community outreach.
