Frank Maconachy is the president and CEO of Ramsay Highlander, the world’s largest manufacturer of self-propelled harvesting equipment. Founded in 1969, Ramsay Highlander has become the premier manufacturer of custom engineered harvesting machinery for the produce industry. The company custom designs machines to meet the exact requirements by utilizing the latest computer aided design (CAD) software. The company has been the leader in the most innovative and food safe machinery in agriculture today. Ramsay supplies harvesting machinery for such crops as: broccoli, cauliflower, all lettuce types, bell peppers, cantaloupes, honeydews, watermelon, squash, strawberries, fresh market corn, spinach, leafy greens, chard, arugula, pumpkins, bok choy, cabbage and others.
Frank earned his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California Irvine and his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. He serves as an Advisory Panel Member with the National Robotics Engineering Center at Carnegie Mellon University.
He is also a member of United Fresh Produce Association, PMA, Florida Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association, Grower-Shipper Association of Central California, United Agribusiness League, and the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
Frank was elected to the board in 2009.
